Re: When are we going to take a stand?

The Bible is to be our guide, no question, ok whats the age of accountability? Some people, its when born, some its when know the difference in right/wrong. Now I've seen babies that know something is right/wrong, so does it mean them? I've seen adults who honestly didn't know what was right and what was wrong.

Good discussion topic but even if there is a 'gay church', isn't the fact that they are in a church, beneficial? Man can't lead them to God, but God can.

Its like the infamous Tops and Bottoms signs. They try to 'scare the hell' out of a person (translation--i'm gonna scare you so bad that you'll give up your wicked ways and come to God). If we believe in God, we know that he could right now open up Heaven and have giant pillars of fire appear and tell every sinner to come to him and scare a lot of them to him. He gives us the choice. He isn't a God of hate, but a God of love. Honestly, referring to a church as a 'gay church' is judgemental, and would he love us sitting in judgement of one of his churches? What would be the difference in condeming a person or a church thats 'gay' than the person who saying that a church is full of a bunch of hypocrites.

Lead people to Christ with your actions, tell them you'll pray for them and if God is in their heart, they'll realize their sins.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

Homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible. But we let drunks, drug addicts, etc. into our churches to change their ways. Letting a homosexual into a church if they wanna change their ways is the same. Ever heard the hymn "Just As I Am?"

There is a difference in a Church that lets gays or other folks into their Church in order to hear the Gospel and a Church for gay folks who do not attempt to show the right way.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

You take a stand by kneeling down on your knees and praying. Using this board as a platform is no way to see men or women turning over to a changed heart. The message of God should be handled with care and love. The Scriptures also say to not cast your pearls to the swine. You have your opinions about what the scriptures means to you but remember Jesus didn't goto anyone and condemn them. He convicts the heart through love, that is the only way the Holy Spirit can even draw you and me and the whole world unto repentance.

Also Jesus spoke to the crowds that followed him. He never went to ones house and called them out for sinning, he said we have all sinned and fell short. And our righteousness is as filthy rags. So you see we are all sinners and need to see the love of Christ if we want to see repentance of ones heart. The Scriptures also tell us how the Pharisees and Scribes came to Jesus and he called them hypocrites.(Matthew 6:2) They themselves thought that their righteousness was good. On the outward appearance they put on a good show and judged many wrong, but on the inward man they were as sinful as one who had never repented. Therefore Jesus told them that Sodom and Gomorrah would stand better in judgement than they would. We all know what Sodom and Gomorrah stood for and what their sin was, but Jesus made it clear to the Scribes and Pharasies that what they stood for and was doing was even worse.

God loves us all, and he knows we all fall short. He knows our hearts and he died for all our sins. I would never use the word of God for preaching or teaching or even repeating unless you was invited to do so. When you are called by God then he will anoint you to speak his word, and then will the love of Christ convict the heart of man.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

Good post. I think it's a darn shame that we had to vote on this. Their sure as hell a lot more important issues that sould have been voted on. What has happened to the morles of this Country? Religion or no Religion same sex marrage is not right, and it is not right in the majority of our population. Just say that this was voted in as a legal thing to do, and you were walking down the steet with your child and see to men kissing, what would you tell that child if he were to ask of the situation? Let's just thank the Good Lord that this was not voted in.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

The vote was not on whether or not to legalize gay marriage. There actually did not need to be a vote period imo- gay marriage is not recognized in our state- why did we need to write that into our Constitution?

I don't see why so many people have such adamant feelings about this- homosexual couples don't concern you- they don't bother you- so why do you care? Oh big deal you see two of them kissing- it isn't going to put your eyes out. I personally get grossed out seeing people making out and groping each other in public, but I'm not going to try to pass a law to get rid of it. It's their (homosexuals) decision (if you believe they make a choice) to make not ours. It's not our place to judge anyone- especially those who call ourselves Christians.

because its judge not less ye be judged first. Im in no way perfect, everyday I think of a million things I do wrong, I have to answer for those things and concentrate on myself to fix them, I can give other the word, I can teach others, I can see others watch me do wrong, I can feel the guilt of my wrongs, I cant do that for anyone else, I think your missing the point, most people arent gonna come out and say "your not right", judge, I am not.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

    uh what?

From what I think you are trying to say- thats why I'm not judging anyone but myself. I try my best to be the best person I can be. It doesn't concern me whether or not my neighbor is gay. If they are - that's their choice. I'm not going to try to convince them otherwise and I'm not going to tell them their decision is wrong. It's not my place to do that.

And I agree completely with the comment that not all people are Christian. A lot of people condemn homosexuality because it's against Christian belief. Well not everyone is a Christian and they aren't going to care about that argument since it doesn't effect them.
